| With a lifetime
experience of working on machinery, the two-brother business team
and inventors of Jiffy Grip, knew the hit-or-miss |
|
frustrations of operating a grease gun. Holding the extension to
the fitting while greasing a piece of machinery is difficult to
begin with. And once a little grease coats the fitting, making a
connection between extension and fitting becomes even more
challenging. |

A culmination of sixteen years added to
their frustration before developing the Jiffy Grip. While greasing
equipment, the fitting slipped one last time, dribbling grease down
one of the brother's fingers and arm. With determined resolve, he
put an idea he'd been considering for years into action.
The first Jiffy Grip was made of
wood. Amazed at the ease in attaching the grease gun extension to
the fitting using the device, the brothers vowed never to go back.
Creating a mold from the wooden prototype, they manufactured the
Jiffy Grip using durable plastic.
What resulted was a growing interest
in the new device among friends, peers and business associates. The
brothers were soon manufacturing the patented Jiffy Grip and filling
orders from businesses of all sorts.
